My name is Thomas and I'm a scribe. My job is to write things for my dear Pharaoh. Scribs were one level below Priests in the social pyramid. Scribes started school at the age of 5 and ended at the age of 17. Women were not allowed to be scribes. They had to write 700 hieroglyphy symbols 400 time for 4 years.
The person that taught the scribe students were Priests. Two rasons why the life for Scribe students was not easy because they never was given brakes and they had to work from sunrise to sun down. They always had to work all the time. The things that scribes uued for pencilas was sharpen reeds. I have 3 children and 1wife I'm 23 years old. Five recordes that scribes wrote was calculated taxes, collected taxes, recored court cases and helped inforce laws.
